Threadline

Plans & Billing

What it is

A plan is the package your workspace is subscribed to. It decides two things:

  • Features: which parts of Threadline you can use, such as Broadcast or Deals.
  • Limits: how much you can use, such as how many channels or agents.

Billing is where an Admin sees the current plan and payments, changes plan, or cancels.

Plans and prices are created by the platform Owner. This page explains them from the point of view of the Admin who subscribes.

The problem it solves

Different businesses need different amounts. A small shop with one WhatsApp number does not need what a company with ten agents needs. Plans let each business pay for what fits it, and move up when it grows.

Limits also keep costs predictable. AI use costs money, so a plan can cap how much AI a workspace uses in a month.

How it works

One subscription can cover several workspaces. The plan's Workspaces limit says how many you can create under it, and each workspace gets the plan's other limits to itself. Billing, renewals and invoices stay with the workspace that holds the subscription. See Workspaces.

When you reach a limit, Threadline stops you adding more of that thing and tells you why. Nothing you already have is deleted.

The name of your current plan is shown under your name at the bottom of the sidebar. If it says No plan, the workspace has no active subscription.

1. Choosing a plan

Right after registering, a new Admin lands on the plan picker. It is also under Settings → Plans later.

Every available plan is shown with all its limits and features:

  • a tick for what is included;
  • a crossed-out line for what is not;
  • Unlimited where the plan sets no limit.

Pick a plan and click its subscribe button. A free plan starts at once. A paid plan takes you to the payment step.

Monthly or yearly. If a plan has both, a Monthly / Yearly switch appears with a badge such as Save 20%. The percentage is worked out from the real prices, and shown only when paying yearly really is cheaper. Each plan card also says "Save N% compared with paying monthly".

Free trials are once per user. If a plan offers a free trial, a user can get it only once. Someone who has already had a paid subscription pays from day one on their next one. The trial badge is not shown to them, and no trial is applied at checkout. Time on a free plan does not use the trial up.

The same subscribe buttons appear in the homepage's pricing section for a signed-in Admin. The current plan is marked Current plan.

2. The payment step: promo codes, tax and billing details

On the payment page you see the plan, its price and a few optional things:

  • Promo code. If your platform offers promo codes, type yours (capital letters do not matter). Threadline checks it straight away and shows the discount in the price. A code can be refused because it does not exist, is switched off, has expired, has been used up, does not apply to this plan, or your workspace has already used it. The message says which.
  • Billing details. If tax applies in your country, you are asked for your billing country (and region where needed), and may add your company name and tax ID. These go on your invoices. The tax is shown as a line in the price, either included in the price or added on top, depending on the rule for your country.
  • Free trial. If the plan has one, the page says nothing is charged today and you can cancel before it ends.

Promo codes and tax apply only with some payment providers. With a provider that cannot apply them, the page says "Promo codes and tax are not applied with …" and you pay the plan's normal price.

3. The Billing page

Settings, Billing appears once a workspace has paid for a plan. A workspace on a free plan does not have it.

It shows:

  • the current plan, its price and its status;
  • which payment provider it is paid through;
  • the next renewal date, or the end date if it is cancelled;
  • Usage on your plan: a bar for every limit your plan sets (team members, channels, contacts, automations, assistants, templates, campaigns, SMS, emails, social accounts and posts, lead credits, storage, AI spend), showing how much you have used. Monthly limits start again each month;
  • your payments, each with its date, amount, status and an invoice number.

Invoices

Every successful payment gets an invoice number (for example INV-2026-000123), numbered in order with no gaps. Click it to open a clean, printable page with your business details, your billing details, the plan, any discount, tax and the total. Use your browser's Print and choose Save as PDF to keep a copy. You can only open your own workspace's invoices.

If you were given a plan by the platform team at no charge, there is no payment and so no invoice.

4. Upgrading or switching plans

  1. Click Upgrade plan on the Billing page, or go to Settings → Plans.
  2. Pick another plan.
  3. Complete the payment step.

As soon as the new payment is confirmed, the old subscription is cancelled and the new plan takes over. Moving to a free plan works the same way, without a payment step.

The unused part of the old plan's period is not refunded.

5. Cancelling

Click Cancel Anytime on the Billing page. This stops all future payments.

You keep everything your plan includes until the end of the period you already paid for. The plan shows as Cancelling with its end date, then Ended once that date passes.

  • Changed your mind before the end date? Click Subscribe again. The existing subscription is reactivated on the same payment method. There is no new checkout, and the next payment happens on the original renewal date.
  • After the end date, there is nothing to reactivate. The workspace cannot use Threadline's features until you choose a plan again with Start a new subscription. Nothing is deleted in the meantime.

Cancelled inside PayPal or Stripe itself? A subscription cancelled directly with the payment provider cannot be revived from Threadline. "Subscribe again" then takes you to the payment page for the same plan.

6. When a limit is reached

You reach What happens
Channels, Agents, Knowledge Bases, Automations You cannot add another until you upgrade or remove one.
Contacts Adding and importing by hand stops. People who write to you are still added.
Campaigns, SMS or emails per month A campaign cannot be launched, and further texts or emails are marked Failed with the reason. It starts again next month.
Assistants, WhatsApp templates, Social accounts, Social posts per month You cannot add another (or schedule another post) until you upgrade or remove one.
AI usage per month The AI stops answering. Messages still arrive in the Inbox, and your team can answer by hand.

To raise a limit, switch to a bigger plan.

What Agents see

Agents never see plans or billing. If their workspace has no active plan, they see a page asking them to contact their administrator.

Common questions

A menu item such as Broadcast is missing. Your plan does not include that feature. Check under Settings → Plans.

I was sent to the plans page when I logged in. The workspace has no live subscription. It was never started, it ended after being cancelled, or the payment provider reports it gone. Choose a plan to continue.

Will I lose my data if my plan ends? No. Nothing is deleted. Features are locked until you choose a plan again.

Can I get a refund for unused time? Not automatically when switching plans. Ask whoever runs the platform. If a payment was refunded, its status on the Billing page shows it.

My promo code was refused. The message under the box says why: not found, switched off, expired, fully used, not valid for this plan, or already used by your workspace.

There is no invoice on my payment. Invoices are created when a payment succeeds. A pending or failed payment has none.

Where do I add my company name or tax ID? On the payment page, in the billing details.
